The two large Poi contain LEDs that can be set to cycle through a series of brightly-coloured light effects. There is a choice of sequences from stationary colour to intensive flashing; all create a bewitching display as the Poi are used. The operation switch for the LEDs has a handy feature - to turn them off the switch must be held down for several seconds so there is little chance of them being accidentally dimmed during a routine. The Poi themselves are manufactured from sturdy plastic with strong adjustable strings and comfortable fabric loops as handles. Swing Poi Originally native to the New Zealand Maori Swinging Poi have recently become popular with jugglers and performers. The two weighted fabric balls have long coloured ribbons and are swung through complex sequences to dramatic effect.
